Meet the Team
I qualified from Bristol University in 1981 and have been working in General Practice ever since, first as an associate and then to become the owner and principal dentist of Dunedin House.
I also serve as the Treasurer for the Local Dental Committee which provides advice to the NHS Area Team on dental matters. I acted as a Foundation Dentist trainer for a number of years.
I am particularly interested in delivering high quality restorative care. I continue to further my knowledge with regular postgraduate meetings and dental courses. This contributes greatly to leading my team effectively with staff training, keeping abreast of new regulations, introducing new equipment, clinical techniques and materials to the practice.
I qualified as a dentist in 1989 from Kingís College Dental School in London and gained my Diploma in Post-graduate Dental Studies from Bristol University in 2007. After qualifying I worked in a dental hospital in restorative dentistry and oral surgery. In 1991 I moved into general practice in Swindon where I have remained. I also work at Bristol University Dental School as a clinical teacher in restorative dentistry where I teach the next generation of dentists.
I take an active interest in furthering my professional development attending and organising courses and lectures and am a postgraduate dental tutor for Health Education England.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, cycling, following Welsh Rugby and Manchester City all in that order!
I qualified in 1990 from Kings College London and worked in general dental practice in Oxfordshire until I joined Dunedin House Dental Practice in 1996. I completed a Diploma in postgraduate dental studies from Bristol University in 2006.
I now enjoy mentoring the next generation of dentists, supporting a newly qualified dentist in the practice each year and supervising dental students one day a week at Bristol Dental School. I gained a PGCE in dental education in 2012 to help this.
I firmly believe that being involved in dental education helps keep my own dentistry up to date and as a result am particularly keen on prevention and minimally invasive dentistry. However, I also enjoy the challenge of getting anxious patients, who havenít visited a dentist for a while, dentally fit again.
I joined Dunedin House Dental Practice in September 2017. I qualified from the University of Bristol and am glad to have the pleasure of working in the surrounding areas. I work four days in practice and one day a week at Royal University Hospital in Bath.
I enjoy all aspects of dentistry but have a particular key interest in periodontology and cosmetics. However what makes the job is getting to know my patients and making them feel comfortable in the chair when coming to see me.
Outside of work I enjoy getting outdoors running and training several times a week as an army reservist.
Our Reception and Nursing Staff
I joined Dunedin House in 1988 originally as a dental nurse and then as a receptionist. As head receptionist I enjoy welcoming the patients, many of whom I have known for many years, to the practice and giving them the best possible care and advice.
I joined the team in 2013 after graduating from Bristol University. I am keen to make patients feel welcome and help however I can. I also help maintain the computer systems and have assisted in the adoption of new protocols to improve the smooth running of reception and other administrative duties.
I have been at Dunedin House since I joined as a trainee in 2005 having previously worked with horses. I qualified with the NEBDN National Certificate in 2008 and I absolutely love my job. I particularly like working with children and also patients requiring extensive restorative work.
I started dental nursing in 2003 and qualified for the NEBDN National Certificate in 2004. I joined Dunedin House in 2012 and enjoy working with the team. I have a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry as it is rewarding to see the final result. I also enjoy cross infection control and decontamination. Reception work is a nice change as I get to see the work from a different perspective. I hope to do more dental courses to further my career.
I joined Dunedin House in 2000 and took a couple of years out to start a family having passed my NEBDN National Certificate in 2005. I like making patients feel welcome and at ease when they come into the practice. I also enjoy working alongside our great team.
I started working as a trainee Dental Nurse in 2012. I did a National Diploma in Dental Nursing and qualified in 2014. I joined Dunedin House in January 2017 and I have absolutely loved working with the team.
I am self motivated and have a confident approach to my work. I am keen to learn new things and hope to do a post registration Dental Nurse course in the future.
I qualified as a dental nurse in 2016 and joined Dunedin House in September 2017. I enjoy all aspects of dental nursing and am looking forward to enrolling on a radiography course.
I am extremely proud to be part of such a great team and Dental Practice.
I am the practice administrator and a registered dental nurse. Through audits and reviews I make sure Dunedin House meets all the required professional standards.
I monitor and organise the servicing of all the equipment as well as any building repairs and also review our practice policies regularly. The dental nurse apprenticeship scheme means that I maintain close links with New College.
